The North Carolina Community College System BioNetwork's interactive eLearning tools (IETs) are reusable chunks of training that can be deployed in a variety of courses or training programs. IETs are designed to enhance, not replace hands-on training. Learners are able to enter a hands-on lab experience better prepared and more confident. This particular IET delves into Environmental Monitoring, including common causes of cleanroom contamination, viable and total particle monitoring, and procedures for monitoring both personnel and surfaces. Flash is required to participate in the learning module.
This activity, from the STEM Action Center - Utah, challenges students to spend some time outside thinking about and observing organisms in their backyards. The lesson is intended for 4th graders and includes the aligning UT SEEd Standard. During this activity, students write down a list of organisms they see in their backyard and then write down any observations made.
